Posted on: November 10, 2017[ARCHIVED] Storm Water Community Forum

The City of Oldsmar is collaborating with the University of Florida / IFAS Extension in Pinellas County to host a Storm Water Community Forum.
The forum is scheduled for Wednesday November 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at TECO Hall in the Oldsmar Public Library. Participants will be asked to provide input about storm water issues in the city. The forum is limited to 20 participants. A minimum of 10 people must be registered to hold the event. Light refreshments will be served.
The forum is based on an effective model developed by the Kettering Foundation for community deliberation in their National Issues Forum program. Each year they frame three new issues and offer guides to help moderators facilitate discussions in the community. The issues guides contain background information and descriptions of alternative value positions and choices. The forums themselves, of which you’ll be participating in one on Nov 29th, provide an opportunity to discuss issues, and particularly the reasons people prefer various solutions, which is an important step in finding common ground.
