Purpose

The Veterans Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council on the criteria for name placement on the Veterans’ Memorial Wall, on any special exception requests or any issues relating to Veterans’ Memorial Park. They were instrumental in the City of Oldsmar named as an official "Purple Heart City." The board provides input and guidance for all issues related to veterans affairs within the City, including but not limited to Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Purple Heart Ceremonies.
