Duties & Responsibilities
Administration of the Planning and Redevelopment Department rests with the Director who provides overall management and supervision of the Planning, Economic Development, Code Enforcement and Building Division in addition to administration of Business Tax Receipts.
The Director is responsible for all planning matters and chairs the Technical Review Committee. Concurrency liaison and coordination with the Pinellas Planning Council, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, Agency on Bay Management, the Community Development Block Grant program, as administered by Pinellas County, and the Community Rating System (CRS), as administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are also the responsibility of the Planning and Redevelopment Department.
The Department also provides staff support for the Planning Board, the Board of Adjustment, the Code Enforcement Board, and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), as well as professional and technical services to other internal departments.
