The City's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2008. Various amendments have been implemented since that time, including the addition of the newly required Property Rights Element to the Comprehensive Plan in 2021.
The City has retained a consultant to lead the City of Oldsmar Comprehensive Plan Update by evaluating all current elements that include:
- Future Land Use Element
- Housing Element
- Infrastructure Element
- Coastal Management and Conservation Element
- Intergovernmental Coordination Element
- Recreation and Open Space Element
- Capital Improvement Element
- Transportation Element
- Property Rights Element
The Comprehensive Plan Update will include multiple public meetings and will have to be transmitted to the State of Florida by August 2023. This update will not only ensure compliance with statutory requirements and rules and consistency with State and regional policy plans, but will also update the community's vision addressing such elements as land use and transportation, aligning critical transportation safety needs of the community, future infrastructure needs, and ensuring a sustainable and resilient community.
