Tower Tank murals of natural habitats at Mobbly Bayou

Wilderness Reflections

Carl Cowden and Mike Massaro, 2005

Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve,

423 Lafayette Blvd, Oldsmar

Initiated by the Outdoor Arts Foundation, murals were painted on the former water and sewage tanks in Mobbly Bayou Wilderness Preserve. Artists, Carl Cowden and Mike Massaro, joined by local students and volunteers, painted the four tanks, one of which is accessible as an observation tower. The circular murals depict the natural landscape and wildlife found in the area, from opossums and butterflies to alligators and armadillos. The project cost was $26,500 and was funded by the Oldsmar Cultural Arts Foundation and the City of Oldsmar.
