  1. Community Poetry Post - April through May

April 1, 2017 - May 31, 2017, All Day @ The "Arts and Culture" corner of the arcade at the Oldsmar Public Library

The theme for our community poetry bulletin board from April until the end of May is “flowery” poetry. Submit any poems that are rich in flowers, be it by metaphor, simile, subject – or simply poems with flowery language. Drop off submissions at the circulation desk or email them to me at SDemmi@myoldsmar.com. Feel free to get creative! Decorate your poems, draw pictures on them, make a collage, whatever you'd like. P.S. Original poetry is always welcome, so don’t be shy! ~S. Demmi

  3. OPAL Youth's Spring Play - 'Aw Shucks'

    May 13, 2017, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Cypress Forest Recreation Center

The 2017 OPAL Spring Play will be at Cypress Forest Recreation Center on Saturday, May 13th at 2PM. This event is free to the public. Come see us! Summary of the plot: Aw, Shucks! Is the story of a good natured Southern boy, Roscoe, who brings his city-girl fiancée Brooke Benton down into the deep South to meet his family. His Maw, Paw, and two aunts get all in a tizzy over his couture wearing, NYC loving fiancée and put her through a country style hazing of farm-related contests. Brooke is pitted against Savannah Davis, a possum-pie-making farm girl that Maw considers “countrifried” enough for her son Roscoe. And Billy Bob, Roscoe’s sweet and simple brother, may just be the wrench in this John Deere of a plot. What will happen in the end? Will love win?!
